Cynthia Rayner, BA, PBDM, MBA, PhD., – Reconciliation and the Indian Act.

As a member of the Tseshaht First Nation, Cynthia Rayner, BA, PBDM, MBA, PhD Business Candidate, brings a unique perspective to the classroom. Grounded in her lived experience and cultural knowledge, she is dedicated to sharing this knowledge in a way that is both respectful and accessible to all learners. She has 22 years of experience working for First Nations in senior management positions (Executive Director, Health Director, Director of Economic Development, Education Manager). She is currently in her fifth year of a Doctoral Program in Business with a focus on key factors that contribute to First Nations’ economic development success. Her dissertation includes the historical events that led up to reconciliation. Cynthia is the principal consultant and owner of First Nations Management Consulting. In this role, she actively contributes to the economic empowerment of First Nations in British Columbia by producing comprehensive labour market studies, business plans, marketing plans, tourism plans, and economic development plans. Additionally, she is a speaker, engaging audiences on the critical topic of Reconciliation.
